Maryland Board of Chiropractic Examiners

IMPORTANT NEWS BULLETINS:

 (Updated 8/31/04)

Chiropractic Assistant (C.A.)  Examination:

The next C.A. Exam is scheduled for Tuesday, November 16th at 4:00 p.m. at the Board Offices, 4201 Patterson Ave., Baltimore, MD.  Any questions, please call Ms. Berger at 410.764-4726.

 Ignore Rumor and Innuendo:

Recent rumors have been floating about that the Board is unilaterally pushing through new C.A. regulations that would be detrimental to chiropractic practices.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  The Board is considering changes, however, it will seek the advice and input of the MD Chiropractic Assn. (MCA) before any such regulations are proposed.  This policy is consistent with the last major regulation change, when the MCA representatives met with the Board to develop proposed regulations that concomitantly protected the general public and enhanced the chiropractic profession.  The Board does nor develop regulations without need and does not develop regulations without taking into consideration all effects on the general public and the profession.

 New Chiropractors……….Beware!

Recently, several new licensees have gotten into disciplinary trouble for using unregistered personnel as C.A.'s or for working with C.A.'s without being certified as a Supervising Chiropractor.  Please be careful when working part-time or as a fill-in chiropractor.  Many times,  the owner/operator of the practice may try to induce you to ‘take unauthorized or illegal shortcuts.’  Do not be misled…stick to the regulations and if you have any questions or require clarifications, please call the Board Director.
