IMPORTANT NEWS BULLETINS: (Updated 12/24/04) Cooperation with Investigations is Mandatory: Practicing Chiropractic in MD is a privilege, not a right. In consideration of this privilege, the licensee is required to cooperate fully with all Board investigations. It is the duty of the chiropractor or chiropractic assistant to respond promptly and efficaciously to questions, interrogatories, subpoenas and court orders. Failure to do so will result in the license being charged for failure to cooperate - a violation of COMAR 10.43.14.03 (Standards of Practice). CA changes will be forthcoming: The Board has determined that more information needs to be provided to both CAs and Supervising Chiropractors. Accordingly, the Board is considering amending the regulations to require specific risk managements and law/regulation CEU courses for both CAs and Supervising Chiropractors. The anticipated course length is 4-5 hours and will be within the current respective requirements of 10 ours for CAs and 48 hours for Chiropractors. CA Newsletters: Commencing in January, CAs will be getting their own Board newsletter. This is an attempt by the Board to provide a better and broader spectrum of information to both the chiropractic and CA communities. Next CA Exam will be held on April 13, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. The deadline for submission of all documentation for this exam is March 1, 2005. CA Renewal forms will be sent out in January for the 4/1/2005 - 3/31/2007 biennial renewal period. All CAs are reminded that they must have ten (10) hours of CEUs completed to obtain their renewal.
